Patrick J. Keating, Managing Director

Over the past 35 years of his professional career Patrick has developed the unique capability to identify, select and position the next generation of early and expansion stage companies to “cross the chasm” and become the dominant player or “gorilla” in their target market segment.

From an initial target market segment in a developed or emerging domestic or regional market to the global markets he has helped support the launch and expansion of hundreds of companies from an idea to an IPO, merger or acquisition in both the USA and Europe.

Combined with his personal courage, determination and relentless pursuit in the field Patrick always seeks to find a way to win for his clients at Keating International.

Experience and Education:

Patrick formed Keating International in 2012. Initially the company was focused mainly on developing the world's first venture capital fund for investing in the next generation of innovation in the global cycling industry under its Velo Capital Partners business unit.

Then, in 2015, a startup company - veliSo - was spun-out of the company to focus on developing the world's first AI-based Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS) that mainly consisted of a collision warning system coupled to the world's first brake by wire system to provide automative emergency braking. In 2018 veliSo was closed due to regulatory issues and lack of demand from the market and OEMs.

After this first stage of its existence Keating International was restructured in 2018 to return to its roots as a technology investment bank.

After relocating to Istanbul Turkey in 1998 from San Francisco Patrick worked as Managing Director of Corporate Finance at Strateji Securities from 1998-2002 where he led it to become one of the leading firms advising entrepreneurs in early and expansion stage technology companies in Turkey. This included the organization of the first technology investment conference in Turkey at the Swiss Hotel in Istanbul in 2000, where 32 Turkish early and expansion stage technology companies presented to1,500 domestic and international investors.

Patrick began his career in the financial services industry in San Francisco in 1986 as an Account Executive in the Retail Brokerage Services Unit at Morgan Stanley before focusing on business financial services at Merrill Lynch, Citicorp and, for three years before relocating to Europe in 1998, Hambrecht & Quist Investment Banking (H&Q).
